The idea for this ministry occurred in the spring of 2009, just after I had completed the St. Louis de Montfort consecration, "To Jesus through Mary." At this time, a relative shared with me that a young girl was considering an abortion. I promised to pray a rosary for her and, upon seeing her baby via ultrasound, this young mother chose life for her child.
This incident led me to discern about creating a ministry where cord rosaries (representing the umbilical cord) could be made for mothers experiencing unplanned pregnancies. Presently, as each variegated pink and blue cord rosary is made with a medal of Baby Jesus attached, the "Joyful Mysteries" of the rosary are prayed. This beautiful rosary and the image of Vessel of the Preborn Jesus are then given as tokens of love to the expectant mothers.
In the sad act of abortion, a child, who is made in the image of God, is killed…
Praying the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, the image of the Christ Child (representing all preborn babies) is cherished.
In abortion, the silent scream is heard, piercing all of heaven and earth…
Praying the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, a soothing lullaby of “I love you” is offered to the Christ Child.
In abortion, the hands of the abortionist sever the umbilical cord, breaking the physical bond between mother and child…
Praying the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, the fingers pass over each bead of the Rosary which is the spiritual umbilical cord of prayer linked together with love.
In abortion, hearts are hardened to hate…
Praying the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, hearts are softened to love.
Won’t you unite with all Christians to pray the Rosary
to save God’s preborn babies?
